Listen;
I have put up walls
To discourage you
Understand;
I turn my back,
But I have not given up
Watch;
There are clues in motion,
Some more subtle than others
Don’t;
Read too deeply into my every word
(You might hear something you don’t like)
I’m explaining,
Are you listening?
Repetitiveness is a sign of stupidity
(Or of wisdom)
All is not fair in love and war,
And I’m sorry
If I come off as bitter;
I don’t like my cynical nature
Or my biting sarcasm;
A desire to claw above
Because I’ve seen the bottom
(And I don’t like it)
Listen
I’m talking.

- Title: Listen
- Artist: Khristallyn
- Description: I wrote this poem a few weeks back or so whenever I was thinking about all the friends that I have (and don't deserve; they're really wonderful people) and the fact that sometimes I'm afraid to speak my mind because I have very radical opinions. It goes off on some tangents, but it got what I wanted to say out.

- It's very interesting Khris. I think it captures how a lot of us can be sometimes, how we push people away even when we don't want to. I like it. ^^

Love the use of punctuation, particularly in the presentation and dishevelment of the brackets.
There's a lot going on here, but it reads fast and without being too fatty - it gets it done quickly and properly.
Nicely compressed, well thought out. This is strong and polished.
The use of 3rd person to 1st person fragmentation has a really positive correlation with the closed off nature of the whole piece - it's very round, very human. Great work. - Report As Spam
