I want to read a real poem
But poetry is dead
And for all of you who killed it
Something must be said
Listen up
Listen good
You're not making poems
I've seen better works of art
But, you all write a bunch of words
All meaningless from the start
Shakespeare was a poet
And Frost and Dickens too
But you, my friend, are awful
Your poems stink like a sweaty shoe
Listen up
Listen good
Write a poem,
Not worthless dribble
Write something good
Maybe something civil?
I'm sick of reading beginner's trash
I'm sick of ruined art
Put your heart and soul into it
And make it GOOD from the start

- Writing is usually part Writer's/part reader's. It is up to the individual to glean something important from a work of art, from past experiences and logical thought. Excellent poem, with a dab of biting truth to it. I despise cliche-ridden and unfeeling works. 5/5

- i would just like to say....this is an opinion. and poetry is supposed to be expressful only to the writer. it doesn't matter what it means to anyone else. Like with me, i HATE rhyming. it seems to cliche' to...commercial. anyway, poetry is from the heart, whether some people think it sucks a**, or if others believe its good. of course some poems do make no sense. you look at it and go WTH WHY DID YOU WRITE THIS s**t!? but somebody gets it somewhere. and thats all that matters.
