"Dude, this is really good material...How come it didn't occur to you before?" Mark asked me after listening to what I had recorded.
"I don't know...honestly. It jus came to me as I talked with her" and I gazed across the schools' gardens, letting my mind fly.
"Well, i don't know about what you think, but this can really make you popular and..."
"No thanks..." I cut him short, shaking my head "...I want her to tell me what to with that song, since it was her who gave me the idea."
Mark nodded understanding what i'd just said. Some how I think now that everything would've changed if I'd done what he told me that moment, but, what's done is done.
I saw something out of the corner of my eye coming towards me fast and moved my head out of the way. A can flew by and crashed into the pillar beside where we sat.
"Dude, what the...?" Mark inquired, but I turned to look at where it had come from, and there he stood.
"Who you lookin' at...?" he called out and made a obscene gesture at me.
"Who's that?" Mark asked me as the guy walked away.
"That's James, her actual boy-friend, which I consider to be a jerk." I replied, making a semi-disgusted face, but acking as if it didn't matter.
"Well, but then how come he's throwing stuff at you? Did you do something to piss him off?"
"No, not that I'm to blame. After I sang her this song, this dude walked in and was kinda passed in beer. I suppose he did something that made Helen angry, and when he saw me he left angrily...so I really don't know, but I'm sure it wasn't my fault, for starters."
Mark nodded comprehensively after I told him this and sighed.
"You should be careful with him..." he said, and I nodded. I knew this kind of trouble form before. I don't think it's relevant to mention, but I know because I was blamed injustly, believing me to be more than just friends with some girls before, when all we were was good friends.
"I know Mark...I just wonder what happened last night when she left."
He was about to answer me, but someone else did before he could.
"Well, why don't you just ask?" and felt I knew that voice. I turned to see who it was, and I was caught off guard.
There she stood, more beautiful than I had ever seen before, with her chocolate colored hair moving in the air. My mouth instinctively fell slightly, showing my awe.
She giggled and Mark nudged my ribs.
"Dude, you look as if you're drooling..." he hispered to me and I blushed, closing my mouth and smiling.
"How're you?" I asked her.
"Good, and thank you.." and passed me a piece of paper "...so we can talk later" and winked at me as she turned to leave.
I watched her go untill she dissapeared around the corner of the main entrance.
"Dude..." Mark just punched my arm.
"Screw you..." I said, with a slight frown and smile on my face, joking around.
"And...?" he said, looking at the paper then at me.
"None of your buisness..." I said, laughing.
"Alright, fine...I'll leave you and your trophey alone..." he said, faking a resented tone.
"OKAY..." I said, with a smile. I unfolded the paper and saw it was her number, below saying: "I'm looking foward to this".
"Niiiice..!" Mark punched me a bit harder...and ran off.
"Ow...! I'll get my vengeance!" I shouted at him.
"See you later..." and posed as to be a girl, blowing a kiss, making fun of me. I stood up, faking I'd go get him and he laughed and left.
I sat down again, thinking in what I'd say or when to call. I was a bit confused, but happy.
All what crossed my mind at that moment, somehow I still feel the same about it, but another part of me wished it didn't happen, because then it wouldn't of meant for me to lose the things I did. And yet, I won't regret it either.
I sat there for a while, listening to the song and reading the paper again and again, trying to explain myself how a pair of days ago talking to her was nothing more than a dream...and now, she'd given me her number so we could talk!
It felt as if things were finally looking better for me...I checked my watch and saw my practice was in 5 minutes. I picked up my guitar and headed to the music room.
After greeting the professor and rest of the class, I sat down next to Jaden.
"Hey Odd, how're ya today?" he said in a kind voice, as he tuned his instrument.
"Oh, I'm good..." I said, trying to hide my happiness, but I guess it was too evident because Jaden looked at me and seemed puzzled.
"Just good? It seems to me you're more than good..." and I did a <I don't know what you're taking about> gesture but he didn't buy it.
"Okay...what happened? Tell me..."
I pulled my guitar out and started plucking the strings, checking if it was tuned, as I told him in a uninterested voice what had just happened...
"Nothing, just that I got Helens' number in my pocket..."
He looked at me awed, more shocked than awed really.
"What..? How? I mean..." he hesitated slightly "...how can one of the most dazzling girls here have given you her number if you're so...so..."
"Go ahead...say it" I said, with a slight sigh of dissapointment.
"Okay...so unpopular..."
I looked at him and offered him my earphones. He looked at me puzzled, but took them and put them on.
"This is why, but I won't show it to anyone else...despite of what you may think" and started up my music.
As I remember his face, how he looked, I can't help to regret having shared him it, he'd still be around if I wouldn't...
