• “Why me??” Mika Ivashkov thought as she was walking up to the front gate of St. Vladimir’s Academy. Her older brother, Adrian, had forced her to move from Britain just to attend this particular academy, just to help her learn more about her strange element. Spirit.
    For best friends Bianca Votelle and Miyuki Milano it was just another ordinary Saturday. Hanging out with their crowd of friends, both Mori and Dhamphire alike, and avoiding/stopping the rumors started by a not-so-nice Mori girl named Andria.
    “DAMON GIVE ME BACK MY HAT!!!!” Miyuki hollered as she chased her older brother around the courtyard.
    “Nah. I don’t really feel like doing that right now.” he said, placing the bright red baseball cap on his own head at a punk-ish angle. However, Miyuki was not in the mood for this argument because she just stopped a rumor about her sleeping with Adrian Ivashkov. He was a long-term guest at St. Vlads because he was helping Valissa Dragomir learn more about the recently rediscovered element, spirit.
    Miyuki all but snapped as snapped as she jumped on Damon’s back when he turned to smile at Bianca and Cain Alto who were standing to the side. Damon and Cain have almost always been best friends, even if it seems they fight a lot. It’s just their way of competition. Bianca was doodling on a notebook filled with strange symbols, she had a weird thing with magic and such. If she tried hard enough she could predict the future, while Cain leaned against a tree slightly annoyed with Damon’s childish actions. Miyuki easily tackled Damon and pinned him to the ground as she took her hat back and put it on her own head.
    Meanwhile Mika had met with headmistress Kirova and Adrian. She sat quietly while he explained to her about what she could do with spirit. Once they were done discussing Kirova handed Mika her schedule and dorm number. Walking out of the main office building, Adrian showed Mika all around the campus. On their way to the cafeteria building, Damon had gotten Miyuki off his back (literally) and as she stumbled backwards, Miyuki fell onto Mika. Scrambling off the poor girl, Miyuki helped her up and hastily apologized, blaming it on her brother as most people would, “Say you’re new around here aren’t you? How do you know Adrian???” she asked quickly as Adrian lit a cigarette.
    “He’s my older brother and he made me come here from England to work on s-” Adrian cut her off by placing his hand over her mouth and saying, “I had her come here so she would be safer from Strgori attacks. They’re way too frequent over there and I just want my little sister to be as safe as possible.”
    “In case you haven’t noticed the attacks are becoming more and more frequent here too.” a voice chimed in from behind the group.
    “Ah well if it isn’t the other little dhampire.” Adrian said.
    “Ugh. Screw you.” Solana Kyumi said brushing her blond hair out of her eyes.
    “Are you offering?” Adrian asked with his signature smirk.
    “Geez Lana. You really need to learn to think before you speak.” Cain said, leaving his spot by the tree , “But anyway where’s Matt?”
    Cain and Matt are brothers even though one’s a Mori and one’s a Dhampire. Let’s just say that their dad cheated, but Cain’s mom treats Matt like her own son so everybody’s happy.
    “Uh…he should be coming. Last I saw of him he was right behind me.” Solana said looking around behind her, “Oh but anyway I came to tell you we all have to go to the one place we go to for big announcements that I don’t remember the name of right now.” Solana was known for forgetting the names of things and people, but she was really popular around for hyper/randomness and just plain being nice.
    “Ugh don’t tell me it’s already time for your guys’ field training.” Damon asked.
    “Okay I won’t tell you then.” Solana was also known for being a smartass, which gave her a bad rep with the teachers but a good one amongst the students.
