What Makes A Real Friend

In this world we have special companions, acquaintances,or as we call friends.
But what makes these people these humans that we've encountered "friends". I ask this question because we live in a world with fakes,with liars,and deceivers. Our " friends" might use us for their own ways, From popularity, dates, even homework and we don't even notice till it hurts us in the long run. We don't see the real person because they hide their real selves, those people they hide it with fake sincerity and sympathy. Then when we need them the most they ignore us and leave us for the vultures to just rip us apart limb from limb, bone to bone till there is nothing left, is that what you call a friend????
