• Papa called them "children of the devil."the first time i saw one was when we where coming close to Chimney Rock.he was covered with mud and what seemed to be blood.instead of walking,he was slowly sprinting at us with hunger in his eyes.Captain Joe shot him in the chest but he kept coming.the odd man bit mister joshuwa.capt.joe shot the man in the head and that seemed to bring him down.we didnt know what would happen to joshuwa,but we would soon find out.we dressed his wounds and put him in his wagon.we all camped there and went to sleep.when dawn came,i awoke to screams and moans.i rubbed my eyes and saw more of the odd people attacking people.i saw dead bodies everywhere and 2 of them were mama and papas.i ran as hard as i could and dint look back.by evening i made it to a cave and rested .i looked toward the direction i came and saw maybe 100 hundred odd people.i knew that i had to make a plan to escape and warn the rest of the world.............
