• Conner walked around the corner holding a tray. He smiled at me and I smiled back. At least there's one perfect face that I don't dread to see everyday.
    "I heard about Marilay and-"
"Uh! Don't talk about it!" I moaned, patting the seat beside me before he sat down, "She'll regret scoring my brother... I'll make her."
    Conner munched on his sandwhitch.
"Don't be so sure. It's not easy making that girl regret that she was ever born." He said without looking at me.
"Well, I'll die trying." I muttered. Conner gave out a loud chuckle, "What?" I asked, offended.
    "That'd be correct."

I walked out into the school carpark, staring at my shoes and trying not to make eye contact with Maril. She leaned on her red BMW, my brother smothered all over her.
"Go to hell and get a room, both of you!' I hissed, pushing my brother out of the way and closing the door behind me.
"Why don't you, you-" She hesitated for a while.
"That's enough, Angy. Maril. Ignore her!" He grabbed Maril's arm and half dragged her to the driver's side of the car, "Now, get me home." He said, giving her a kiss. I rolled my eyes, trying to think of something else to say other than 'stop making babies' or 'don't have an accident there.'
    "Can we go now?"
A couple more kisses later, they both got into the car and Maril drove with a bright smirk on her face.
"What are you doing saturday night?" My brother asked.
"Nothing. Why?" Maril haughtily smiled. I knew she was expecting my brother to ask her out.
    "There's a concert-"
"Actually." I said before he could finish, "He's coming to my drawing lessons. Sorry." Maril's smile disappeared. A feeling of delight entered me. Now I started to smile.
"I am?" John looked back at me. "Angel-"
"Mom said you had to, remember?" I tilted my head innocently at him, opening my eyes wider.
He gave a curious glance at Maril and then at me.
    "Y-yeah..." He said slowly.
    Step one. Done.

"It was easier than I thought!" I said, twisting the cord attached to the phone. "All I have to do is try not to give what Maril wants. That's what all diva's do, get what they want, right? So I do the oppisite!"
"Yeah, but won't your brother get in the crossfire?" He asked.
"My brother's a leech. He'll deserve it." I said, popping a cheeseball into my mouth.
"That's going too far, Angy." He said, "Are you eating chips?"
I smiled, "Yes - Back to the point. Which side are you on, conny? Mine or His? Wait. Mine, His or the devil's?"
Static sounded and I held the phone away from my ears. That would have been conner's sigh.
"Since I'm your best and only friend, I'll go on your side, but I'll only be supporting you, not helping, okay?"
    I luaghed, "Okeli-dokeli!"
"Don't say that word-" Before he could finish, there was a loud squealing noise and then a loud crash.
"Conner?" I asked but the line had gone dead. "Conner!"
"What is going on in there?" Mom yelled, banging on the door.
"NOTHING!" I yelled back with deep irritation. "GO AWAY!"
    Nothing.
    Good. She's gone.
I stared out my window, squinting at the stars.
I hope that perfect face was okay. It was the only one that gave me hope.
