• "Shhhhhhh... Just be still and listen to me... Okay?"
    "Okay... Alright..."
    Adrian quietly laid down beside her. He ran his fingers alongside her arm.
    "Close your eyes..." he demanded, pulling his face closer to hers.
    Taking a deep breath, he leaned in and grazed her lips with his, attempting to kiss her as gently as he knew how. Maya quivered with curiosity as his fingers caressed her skin... He sunk further and ran his lips along her tender neck... The soft surface of his sweet lips transitioned into a pleasantly slow grating of teeth against her flesh...
    "A-Adrian I--"
    "Shhhhhh... You'll be fine..." he spoke, softly interrupting. "Brace yourself Maya... This will hurt a bit..." he whispered.
    "Alright..." she faithfully answered.
    He continued to grate his teeth against her neck. Then, a sudden gratifying pinch sharply hollowed down into it... The pinching sensation grew to be more painful, and so she grabbed a hold of the antiquated sheets beneath her. Breath quickening, she opened her dilating eyes.
    "Adrian..." she called, breathing heavily, with tears escaping her eyes.
    He did not answer with words... He thrust his teeth deeper into her neck and silenced her worrisome oration... She had become suspended betwixt dream and reality. A deep slumber overtook Maya... She was no longer human.
