THE BIRTH OF MENDACITY
KIKI:
Katie let out an unearthy scream as she lied almost completely lifeless on the cold ground. Envy continued to restrain Edward as he fought to go save her. Alphonse still wasn't here yet. Even though Edward had told me not to get involved in this, I really didn't have any choise. I knew he loved her. He wasn't going to let her die... was he? I feel so useless...
So I managed to get past the other homunculi fast enough to get to Katie. I then realized that all around us, was a transmutation circle. Human sacrifices? It looked very familier. But no matter. I was going to keep her alive, no matter what it took. Even if I was to give my own life for hers, it would be worth it. Amerstran alchemy wont work, so instead, I used the Lebisic alchemy. It's the only kind I know that can outwit the law of equivalent exchange. Even though I said I would sacrifice anything, I would only do that if it really came down to it. As a last resort. There had to be some way to do this and keep everyone else alive. So I clapped my hands together.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Envy yelled, destracted enough for Edward to get out of his grip. He rushed to the middle of the circle. He knew quite a bit about Lebisic alchemy as well. He knew what was going on as he clapped his hands together. I nodded as we both touched the ground and a blinding green light appeared. It was working. There was no rebound. I closed my eyes and didn't remember anything after that. The world went black around me.
EDWARD:
Kiki went out cold in the middle of the transmutation, but she was concious enough to continue. I had tears running down my face, praying to whatever god would answer that this would work. I wanted her to come back, but I didn't want to leave Al all alone. I really am pathetic. The green light dimed and eventually faded away. I looked around me and saw no one. No homunculi, no one. Only me, Katie and Kiki. I came to my senses and checked on Katie. I got a pulse. So... she was alive. I smiled. "She... she's alive. It worked... she's alive..." But I also noticed something that I didn't want to. On her neck, I saw the tattoo that all the homunculi had. My eyes widened. But... there was another problem. Lebisic alchemy has a way of keeping someone at least a little human. And she wasn't even dead when Kiki and I preformed the transmutation. So this ment that Katie was half human and half homunculus. But the most important thing is that she was alive. Nothing more.
KATIE:
I dont remember much. Just the pain and the sight of Kiki and Edward towering over me, their hands clapped and a green alchemic light. The last thing I remember was the thought I had in my mind. "Stop! You won't make it!! You'll both die! I'm not worth it!" I didn't have the strength to say it. Edward was sheading so many tears. He must think he's pathetic.
No Ed. You're normal.
But, what if the transmutation failed? Would they be willing to pay the price? Both Ed and Kiki have people waiting for them back home.
Home...
That world seems so far away now. Almost too far to ever go back to. But, we came here to do what we were set out to do. But I ruined it. I've become a half human, half monster thing that I promised I would kill. But... There's no turning back now. And now, I cant return home as a human. The thought makes me so sad. No one else is there... no one else... i'm stuck in this world forever. But, what about my family? What will they do? I'm not sure anymore...
