Why? Why is it dark?
Why is it cold?
There are many things that ran through my mind all at once, as I lay here on my side, a tear rolling down the side of my face to the floor every once in a while. They were soundless.
But why? Why did it hurt so bad?
I stood up, like the thousanth time again. I went to the door that kept me locked up in this cage like an animal, for the thousanth time. Again, I was pushed down by an unknown force. For the thousanth time.
A demon like me. Being used this way. It was wrong.
A shadow came and walked to my cage door. I snarled from where I lay.
"Easy girl. It's time."
I winced. I let myself be stood up, and they led me out.
Now you would take one look at me, and you would think I look like a human. But if I lose control ver who I am...
I shuddered. It always hurt when I remembered the changing.
They threw me into a room, still bound up with about ten chains on my hands, and the guards left me. The so called warden came to kneel beside me.
"Who do you want me to murder tonight, you soulless b*****d?" I hissed.
"Easy girl. A mafia. They've been trying to get to me for years." He went to a cupboard and took out my weapon: a flame sword. I never fought without it. He untied my chains and gave me my sword, which I snatched from his hand and sheathed it at my waist.
"Where's the other one?" I growled. He took it off his desk.
How dare he put my ice blade on his desk. I glared at him, snathing that blade as well. I sheathed it on my back, and tossed my flame red hair out of the way.
"Where are they?" I rolled my eyes.
"Do you know where Montreal is? It's south from here."
Do I know where Montreal is. Honestly, what do I look like, a fool?!
"Whatever." I jumped up and out of the hole in the roof, and ran from rooftop to rooftop. My floor length silk kimono draped out behind me as I ran about two hundred miles an hour. My pale white skin looked almost ghostly under the moonlight.
I ran straight across the bridge that would take me into Montreal, and jumped back onto the rooftop of an apartment. I croutched there a moment, looking around. I searched for a scent.
I ran to the rooftop next to the one I was at, and traced the smell to the southernest part of the town.
I walked through an alleyway, my white fox ears on my head twitching in alarm. Even my white tail twitched.
"Well lookie here. We got company." A low male voice mocked, followed by the agreement of about ten more.
The smell of drugs and beer filled my sensitive nose, and I winced in response. But I continued foward.
I could see them.
They were all fat, except for the smallest one in the back. He had brown hair, green eyes and peach skin. His face was so perfect that it stunned me a moment. The others had black hair with bushy beards, and smelled of rotten fish.
I unsheathed my sword slowly, the heat of the flame making the alley light up. They saw I held weapons, and took out guns.
All hell broke loose.
They started shooting at me, but I dodged then easily. I sliced the first with my sword, and the youngest - the one I had been stunned by - ran to the deep end of the alley.
I think it kind of shocked them when one bullet aimed at my head went right hrough without a scratch. I sent flames out from my palm to three of them, and I did the same thing to the remaining five. Then I turned to the one hiding in the corner, and pointed my sword at him.
He looked into my eyes with fear, shaking so much. I sheathed my sword.
"Please... don't kill me. I have nothing to do with them." He pleaded.
I knelt beside him.
Then I made an instand descision. I took the bracelet the warden had put around my wrist to track me wherever I went, yanked it off and threw it out into the water. Then I held out my hand to him.
Stupid humans. So vulnerable.
"Come. I'll take you back where you came from."
"I have no home." He whispered. I sighed in frustration.
"You want me to kill you, take you someplace safe, or have someone else kill you?"
He winced, and took my hand. I slung him on my back.
"And please. Whatever you do. Keep your mouth shut about everything that happened there. Don't think you're dead, because I'll tell you this now. I'm not human."
I ran full sprint into the night.
