• “ I adore you Lulu, you know that”
    I whisper to her as she falls asleep,
    She smiles lightly and snuggles in more under her blanket.

    I smooth down her blanket and kiss her softly on her forehead, then get up from her bed and move to the chair by her computer desk.

    She looks at me and softly says “ you wont leave till I fall asleep right?”

    I cross my arms and smile reassuringly at her then nod yes.
    “ now go to sleep…I promise I wont go till your in dreamland, before I leave ill lock all the windows and your door. You will be safe from outside monsters” I say with smile

    I lean back in the chair and wink at her, she nods lightly then closes her eyes as I turn away from her and make a check list in my mind of what I need to do I hear her softly whisper
    “its not the monsters outside I’m afraid of”

    My body tenses slightly and I turn back to her, I want to say something reassuring but I know what ever it is I’m going to say wont help her be at ease.

    I shake my head and continue to survey her room, I notice there is a crack in her window by her bed, I walk over to it and run my finger along it, I lean closer to it and notice it has started to spider crack, but the funny thing is I don’t remember this being here last night.

    I inspect her windows and door every night before I leave and I know I would have noticed this.
    I pull out my notebook and log in the window crack, I take out my tape measure from my backpack and measure the window so I can replace it tomorrow.

    I look over at her and check to see if she’s still asleep, she’s buried her head under pillow and is clutching her teddy bear close to her chest.

    My heart constricts a little, I rub my hand across my chest and smile, she really doesn’t know how much I love her, but I’m ok with this, if she knew how much I worried about her sanity, I’m sure she would be upset.

    But she just doesn’t understand how much people worry about her mind slipping away completely.

    I frown slightly then walk across her room and inspect her window.
    Shaking my head slightly, I run my finger along the crack in this window too

    I grab my notebook from my pocket and look at yesterdays entry and see I wrote. “ no change”
    How could this happen in one day? I walk over to the other window and look closer at the crack, it looks as if someone tried to break it with a nail, you can see the impact point, and how it branches out from there.

    I write a few entrees in my note book and then continue to inspect her room, I check the hinges on her door, then look in her closet for any hidden panels that might open to the next room.
    As I finish checking her room, my phone buzzes, I grab it from my bag and see its my friend Ryan calling me.

    “What’s up Ryan?”
    “Oh hey Jyx, you still at Lulu’s?
    I rub my face and close my eyes.
    “ yeah” I sigh
    He chuckles softly. “ man you got it bad, if your not at her house your working just so you can work on her house. Its like a never ending saga. Well I didn’t call to harass, I just want to know if your free to go out to the pier with me”

    I look around her room, trying to decide if its safe enough for me to leave.
    “Yeah, ill meet you there”
    “hey thanks man, you need a ride?

    I think about it for a second then say, “No I’ll take my car, that way I can leave in a hurry if I have to”
    “okay no problem, see you in a few”
    I close my phone and slip it in my back pocket I glance over at Lulu, she’s still sound asleep. I walk over to her and check the microphone that’s wired in to her alarm clock, its still working properly. I grab my things and step outside her door. As I shut the door I take the key from around my throat, and lock her in her room.

    As I’m walking out to my car, I start to feel something strange race through me. Then time seems to stop.
    I try to take another step but my legs wont move. I feel this energy start to surround me, the ground begins to tremble.

    I try to turn around , but I still cant move, pieces of the gravel levitate up from the ground and move towards the sky.

    “Lulu, get up!” I scream, why the hell cant I move if I don’t get in there something is going to happen to her
    I jerk my body towards her house and I hear a sound as if something tore in the sky and then finally I’m running to her house, I grab the door knob and jerk the it open, I run in to the stair case and fall down, hitting my knee on a step, I feel my pants rib and I barely notice the blood running down my leg, I leap up and continue to run up the stairs

    I make it to her room and jerk at the door, the door doesn’t budge,

    “Crap” I yell, I forgot I had locked the door, I yank at the chain around my neck and snap it off, I unlock her door and push it roughly open.

    I look at her bed and gasp
    “Oh my God, Lulu no”
    She’s suspended above her bed, her flaming red hair is floating around her like a halo. I move closer to her, and speak lowly

    “Lulu, you need to wake up” I reach out to take her hand.

    “I wouldn’t do that if I were you”

    I whip around, and see a man standing in the far corner of her room.
    He has a strange glow about him, and is smoking a pipe.

    I glare at him and say “who the hell are you and how the crap did you get in to Lulu’s room?”

    He smiles and then pockets his pipe. He steps away from the corner, when he does this I can see him more properly.
    He is at least 6 feet tall and looks as if he could throw me around like a doll.

    “who I am is none of your concern right now, but how I got in is easy enough, ..I wanted to be in her room and poof, I was”

    He rubs his hands along his arms and shakes his body

    “Burr its cold up here, how can you mortals stand it? But no concern I wont be up here very long anyway, I just came to get your precious Lulu” he sneers as he says this then continues on,
    “ you see, your Lulu is needed else where, so ill be taking her”

    He snaps his fingers and out of nowhere two things pop in the room. They were skinny and had skin that looked like leather.
    One of them looked at me, he hissed and half his nose fell off.

    I jumped in front of Lulu’s bed and put up both of my hands, then shouted “ those things are not going anywhere near her, you need to take this freak show somewhere else ”
    The creature with only half his nose grabbed at my foot, my shoe, where he grabbed began to smolder, and catch on fire. I winced and then kicked it in the face. His head flew across the room and hit the wall close to where the man stood.

    “well this is certainly more entertaining then I thought it would be” he chuckles, he looks at the other creature and softly tells him
    “No more messing around, grab the girl now!”
    The creature cowers down then looks sideways at me, I see in his beady eyes he fears the other man, I think about this then I whisper softly to him

    “you don’t have to listen to him, you don’t have to obey.”
    He looks as if he understands then, he looks over at the man then towards me again and gives me a little shake of his head, he cowers lower to the floor, I here him hiss violently,
    “hee isss myy maaassster iii caaaan”t disssoby hiiiim, heee wiiilll feeeed meeee tooo hiis mooonsssterrr.

    “If you don’t obey me, there wont be a body for him to feed his monster to” I tell him harshly

    His beady little eyes widen, then he looks over to the man standing in the corner, he brings his sickly looking arms up and covers his head, while he does this I hear him whisper
    “wiiiillll yooooou beeee niiice toooo Eeezzzzkkkk?
    I nod my head, and say “I will” then the creature turns to the man in the corner and shouts

    “ III Shhhalll nooo lonnnger beee yooour seeeerveent!”
    The creature then brings his hand up to his chest and rips something off, I look at his hand and see patch of some sort.
    The man in the corner grabs at his chest and yells out,

    “Ezk you fool!, I will have the wrath of the underworld brought down upon you!, you will know what pain is all about when I’m done with you!!!

    As the man is yelling Ezk looks at me and says
    “Iii muuusst haaave aaaa maaasssttter, iiiif iiii dooontt biiiiiinndd sooon wiiiithhh yooooou iii wiiil ceeeaaassseee toooo exxxxsssissst!

    “ How do you bind with me?, what do I have to do?”
    It looks as if he try’s to smile, then he says “ ittttts siiiiimmmple, Iiii fuuuussse oooon toooo yooouuurrr boooody”

    I grimace, I try to think about what that might look like, I then look over at Lulu, she was still floating in the air, I strengthen my resolve and then look down at Ezk.

    “Do it” I say in a commanding voice

    The man in the corner takes a step away from the corner, his arm reaches out to Ezk.
    “No!” he shouts

    Ezk looks over at him and grins, he then takes the patch he ripped from his chest and reaches up and slaps it on my chest.
    A searing hot pain rips through me, I lean over and gasp
    “what have you done to me!” I fall over and grasp at the hole I feel is being torn in to my body. I can barely hear what is going on, the other man is shouting at Ezk, while Ezk is laughing in a high pitched squeal.

    “ I am going to rip you to pieces you little worm!” he shouts
    I then hear Ezk laugh and answer’s back, “ yoooou wiiiilll neeeevveer geet meeee nooow, iiiillll heeeelllllp hiiiim deeeeesssssttttrrrooooy yoooooou!!

    The other man shrieks in rage, I hear foots steps approaching me, then the pain becomes too much, the fire that has started in my chest has now moved to all over my body, I open my eyes before I pass out and see the man lunge at Ezk. Then everything is black.


    I open my eye’s, sunlight is streaming in to the room, I notice that I’m in Lulu’s room. I sit up and rub my head, I pull my hand back and say out loud “ what the hell!” I get up and walk over to Lulu’s mirror. Besides the same face I’m used to looking at, my head has seem to have sprouted at least two and a half feet of hair, and along my neck are inter woven tattoo’s of it looks like…I lean closer to the mirror… snake tongue’s. I look down at my arms and the forks of the tongues end at my wrists.

    “oh my god what happened to me” I murmur to myself, I began to pull up my pant legs and check my legs. Underneath the hair I can make out the lines, I follow them down and they end the same way as they do on my wrist, but right at the base of my foot. They fork out at the top of my foot.

    I yank off my shirt, and as I look in the mirror, I gasp, for on my chest in bright red and black is a four headed snake, each one heading off towards one of my limbs. Double pronged tongues extend from their mouths. Four sets of eyes blaze at me in the mirror.
    I turn around and try and look at my back, I can somewhat make out the huge snake tail that spirals up my back, and wraps half way around my neck.

    I yank my shirt down and sit down abruptly on Lulu’s floor and try to rack my brain for any reason I could have for having all that creepy stuff on my body.
    I aimlessly pick at my pants leg, noticing the burn parts at the bottom, then it hit me, I gasp and fall over clutching my head. The man in the corner, the little creature and Lulu, Lulu floating above the bed. Scrambling from the floor I trip and hit my head on her dresser, I touch the cut I feel on my scalp, looking down at my hand

    I see instead of the regular color of blood, its blue.

    “ oh my god!, what the hell is wrong with me? I’m going to
    kill that little creep when I see him!”

    Walking over to the mirror again I notice I don’t just walk anymore, I kind of glide.
