• Hello, my name is Raven. I have grown up in this delightful town haven. Or at least I wish it was delightful. I am considered weird here because I wear black all the time, most people wear white or pink or some other bright color. I am labeled gothic here.

Over the past year I have been to many funerals. The death of loved ones hurts but people tell me to get over it. Lately I have been hanging out at certain graves at out local cemetery with my friend Alexander. He has read many old books about olden times and enjoys telling me about them” (Amerson).

All over out county we have found and visited many cemeteries. All of them are huge and must contain thousands of graves. I’ve been talking to Alexander about this and he seems to think that there must have been many bloody battles fought here.

Lately, we’ve become bored with staying within our county cemeteries. Alexander had the great idea to go out to the next county to see what cemeteries we can find there. So today he picked me up in his red Ford Mustang and we drove off into the sunrise. At the edge of our county and the next we see on the horizon a huge house on a hill. We turn and drive in its direction.

The house was a stony gray and sat silent and dead. On the top of it there was a bell; which was red with rust. The road up to the house circles the hill countless times with a rusty fence on the outside of it. If anything it’s more like a castle with a garage. The hill had a bunch of graves all the way to the top, it gave me the chills.

Alexander stops the car and we watch the house for any sign of life. Nothing stirs, not even birds fly near the house. Slowly, Alexander starts telling me the story of the house’s owner, The Earl of Graves.

The Earl was once the most ruthless Vampire in the country. He would do anything for the blood of a girl. He was willing to wait for long periods of time (with snacks in between) for the girl to mature and then he would take her to his house and take her life’s blood. His wrath for anyone who got in his way was unstoppable.

As he spun the tail I felt myself seeing this man. Tall, slim, pale and handsome was how I saw him. I told Alexander this and he laughed at me. Goosebumps ran up and down my entire body and a chill wind hit the side of the car. I then noticed that the car was moving very slowly up the hill.

I looked over at him and he just smiled at me. It then occurred to me that I had never asked him where he lived. Nor had I ever seen him eat anything. His skin was pale and his hair was a colorless blonde. As he smiled at me I noticed his sharp almost fanglike teeth. I began to become afraid, but it was already too late.

We were in the garage and I was too afraid to move. The doors were locked as well, or at least they were until he unlocked them with a flick of his finger. Getting out of the car he walked along the car until he came my door.
He opened the door and leaned in. Putting his ice cold hand on my face he said to me,

“You really are beautiful,” then he sunk his fangs into me. I felt my grasp on life slipping. I began to wonder if anyone would miss me, I decided they wouldn’t even notice the moment it crossed my mind. Then the world went cold, then warm as I felt Death embrace me.
