• Kangaroo was excited.It was the Stone Village’s annual long jump contest and he was sure he would win-again!Most of the time he won by default because no one entered,knowing he would win.
    But this year someone moved into Stone Village.Her name was Mouse.Mouse had moved from a big city to Stone ViIlage because she needed the peace and quiet.She was determined to beat this year’s long jump contest.Of course Kangaroo thought this was a bunch of rubbish!Did she really think she could win against a kangaroo?
    Turns out she did.Before the contest,Kangaroo said to Mouse, “Your funny.Do you really think you can win against ME?”Mouse replied “Yes.Maybe I can.You never know with critters like me,you know?”
    At the contest,Mouse went first.Out of the far distance ratings she got 2/10.Kangaroo laughed.At his turn,he prepared to jump-but he stepped on a rock.He yowled with pain!He cried and got a 1/10.It counted,unfortunately.
    Mouse won that year and got the trophy,Kangaroo had to help her carry it-all the way to her house!
    Moral:Luck is blind but bad luck can see just fine!
