• The Panther and The Wolf

Once upon a time, in an echanted forest, there was a castle. It was a beautiful stone castle, with statues of angels and gargoyles alike, guarding it. Nobody believed that a living thing inhabited the castle, not even an insect. But inside it, was indeed a living thing. Two living things to be precise. In it, dwelled a wolf and a panther, two magnificent creatures. But there was tension between the two of them. They hated each other, and their hate grew with every passing day. Even though they shared the castle, they couldn't settle on who got what in it. Until one day, they decided to split the castle into two parts, the East Wing, and the West Wing. The panther got the East Wing, where there was a lounge where he could lay in front of a fire that never ceased to burn, and dream sweet dreams, while the wolf acquired the West Wing, where there was a room with a balcony the over looked the forest where the castle dwelled. The two eventually decided that this agreement was best and that it had solved all their problems.

However, more problems had arisen. The wolf loved to read books, but the library was on the East Wing, where she was forbidden to go. And the panther loved the garden and the fountain that was in it, but the beautiful garden was stationed in the West Wing, Eventually, the two met up once again, and agreed that for one hour a day, everyday, at the same hour, they would each travel to their opposite areas and enjoy the luxuries that were there. Meaning the wolf could read her books, and the panther could relax in the garden. And once again, the two believed that all their problems had been solved. But that wasn't necessarily true.

Years passed, and the two beasts that lived in the castle had grown tired of their deal. The wolf had already finished all of the books in her library, and the flowers, trees, and plants were starting to die in the panther's garden. The two wanted more territory, but they wouldn't allow the other into their side. Once again, the hatred grew and grew, until it started to grow into something more and more sinister and violent than the wolf and panther. The more they fought, the more hatred and greed gave the power to a monster that was born because of said hate. It was huge, black, with red claws, yellow teeth, silver eyes that pierced through one's soul with terror, and a howl that even scared the spirits that wandered the forest. Everyday, it grew stronger or weaker, depending on whether the wolf or panther ventured into another's part of the castle.

One day, the panther had decided to sieze the castle for his own, growing frustrated at the fact that he was sharing it with a wolf. He strode into the wolf's balcony room while she was in it and began to destroy everything that he could. The wolf was appalled by this and attacked the panther. Soon enough, the two beasts were clawing and biting one another, staining the white, marble halls with their red, crimson blood. The hatred was at it's climax, and so was the monster. It had fnally broken free of its prison, and stormed for the castle. Once it had reached the iron gates, it busted through, and began tearing and destroying the castle walls. The two animals had stopped their fight, surprised and horrified at the moster that was destroying their home. They rushed to stop the monster, but it swung one of its mighty arms, and knocked the two out, then continued its rampage.

Hours later, they awoke, only to find that their beautiful castle had been destroyed because of their hatred and selfishness. The panther looked to the wolf and apologized, and she did the same. Giving eachother one last final nod, they turned and went their seperate ways, changed by the disaster that had befallen them.
