1 day left of summer…
“Ahhh, what to wear,” Aqura sighed. She had a closet jam-packed of clothes from her summer shopping spree for fall, but none of the outfits done justice to her history. Aqura held a pair of black, five-inched, open toed pumps, made popular by Brian Atwood, by the straps. Normally she would love to wear the brand new $800 dollar shoes, but they seemed too much for the first day.
Aqura dumped the shoes into her aqua colored mini trashcan that were already overflowing with clothes, handbags, and shoes. She made a mental note to buy another aqua trashcan that was 10 times bigger than the one she has now.
The phone near the trashcan beeped and she bent down to get it.
“Hey, it’s your worst nightmare,” she answered already knowing the person who called was her best friend, Leyen Mills.
“Hey, it’s reality, wake up already,” Leyen Mills answered. Both the girls giggle for a minute and then went back to business.
“What’re ya wearin’ to the first day, eh?” asked Leyen in slang. Leyen’s new trend for the summer was to add a little gangster to every bit of her. She gangstertized her summer outfits by adding a little bling her and there.
“Still a gangster?”
“You’re going off the subject and yes I’m still gang-sta for one more day.”
“(sigh) I have no idea what to wear, and I’ve been trying to decide for over and hour! I haven’t even decided on what shoes to wear either!”
“Whata ‘bout those Brian Atwood buh-lack pumps?”
“You mean the ones I just threw out? You know I can’t wear anything that has touched the can,” Aqura sighed again.
How to say: Aqura (uh-cure-uh) Leyen (lay-in)
“Harsh. I luuurrved them when you tried them on, they looked like they were made for you.”
“You’re not helping. Conversation over,” said Aqura while using her thumb to press the end button on the sleek phone. She walked over to the full length mirror that hung in the black of her walk-in closet and examined her light brown eyes.
“You have to focus or you’ll never choose the right outfit,” she told herself. She took one last look and went back to her dutiful task.
