    as the moon began to glimmer off the lake, Trent began to doze off next to his best friend, Rex.
    "Well, Rex, its been another long day..." Trent said, " Its these kind of summer nights where the day seems to go on and on... Don't you think?"

    Rex barked happily

    Trent chuckled to himself as he began to stroke his long fur. He's been best friends with Rex ever since he found him limping around on his front lawn.

    Trent took Rex in after he saw him get hit by a truck that was speeding, Rex was just a puppy at that time, and Trent was only 6 years old.

    "You know something Rex...? I wonder if summer can end spiritually..."
    Rex cocked his head ever so slightly, enough to give him the gesture that he didn't quite understand.
    "Like, could a soul be locked in eternal summer, or does the soul die as soon as it's owner begins to collect his books in preperation for the next grade?"

    "You just feel that way, because you never put your brain to rest, you idiot."

    Trent turned his head to find his two other friends, Katarena, and Kevin (who are ferternal twins)

    "Oh, hey guys... and Kat." Trent said flatly.
    "Hey! I'm still a human being, even if you don't want to think I am!" Kat barked back with a short huff.
    "Ignore her, Trent, she just had one too many Dr.Peppers before we came here." Kevin said, slurred
    Kat grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "You're just lucky I'm not this cranky every day!!"

    "I'll bet..." Trent said rolling his eyes
    Rex barked agreeingly
