• Everything was always the same for Juniper. Each day, the town was quiet... no news - nothing at all was surprising. The only thing you could hear was the ruffling of the grass and the soft waves of the coast... Until one night...
    It smelled like pancakes! Like, pancakes with boysenberry syrup! It was Juniper's favorite breakfast. Thump, thump, thump. Juniper ran downstairs as quick as lightning. She saw her mother setting the table with the scrumptious boysenberry pancakes.
    '' Mom! You made boysenberry pancakes! What happened??'' Juniper asked with delight.
    '' Oh there's no reason, just would be nice if you had a surprise in a long time.'' Her mother replied with a wink. Juniper knew her mother better than that. Something must be really special, she thought. Juniper picked up six pancakes and shoved them inside her mouth. Juniper didn't like eating breakfast slow.
    After a dreary, boring day at school, Juniper was exhausted. Tests all day! She walked home and it was already dark! It doesn't take that long to walk home, Junip thought. Junip ran up to her room and started to look for her PJ's. She threw up all kinds of clothes. Then she found her coco plushy and her cat PJ's. She only wore it when she was scared, or if there was a special occasion. So instead of throwing it, she gently folded the PJ's and put them above her dresser. She quickly dressed herself and jumped onto bed. Ahh, Junip thought. It felt so good just to lay down for once!
    Junip woke with a start. It was just a nightmare, Junip thought. She looked out the window to calm herself. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Junip heard a scream. Why would there be a scream in this town? She curled up in her green blanket. Her stomach lurched. Her heart was thumping. Tears streamed down her cheeks. Scream after scream... Her head was aching. She didn't know what to do.
    The next morning, Juniper woke up fresh. Mmmm, it must've been a dream, she thought. She quickly went to school.
    '' Class, we're doing benchmarks today.'' the teacher said. Juniper groaned. Test each day! '' Now.. begin.'' Junip's pencil scratched against the paper. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Juniper heard a scream again. Juniper's eyes grew wide. She heard a person killing someone. Splat! Blood spattering everywhere. Ssss, thack. Her pencil dropped from her hands. Everyone stared at her for such noise, but she didn't hear anything... She only heard.... murders...screaming...and blood. Her eyes were blank. The spark in them was gone.
    Juniper ran home as quick as she could. '' MOM DAD!!!! I-I-I h-heard-''
    '' Juniper get a grip! Calm down and tell us what you heard.'' Her mother interrupted. Juniper closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
    '' Last night and today at school when I was taking the benchmarks I heard people screaming and I heard blood and I heard murders!'' Junip blurted out. Her mom and her dad looked worried. Their daughter was being ridiculous!
    '' Honey!!! Stop making up things! Haven't you ever heard of the boy who cried wolf? Go to your room, now.''
    '' But I'm not-''
    '' NOW!'' Juniper ran upstairs with tears. How could her parents think she was lying?
    Juniper quickly put her kitty PJ's on and slept with her coco plushie. Atleast she wouldn't be THAT scared.
    Every day the poor little girl heard screams and murders. She even noticed that some people in the town were gone! Junip kept telling everyone about what she heard... Everyone thought she was a liar. People stopped talking to her. Her parents even grew more silent with her.
    Juniper was weeping and shuddering in her bed. The night was pure black. It was a new moon. The screaming and killing she heard grew silent. Juniper smiled. SMACK! Juniper fell off her bed. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw two glowing dots under her bed. She was frightened. She was shaking with fear. She was frozen. Something silky touched her foot. AHHHHHHH! she heard her own scream in her head. And right before she was on her way to her death... She realized why her mother made pancakes... She made it as an early present, because today was her birthday. Then, everything went dark.
    Each day, the town grew smaller. People disappeared. Corpses were everywhere. And Juniper was behind it; killing innocent people and draining their blood. And when she goes to kill, she first kills the people who never believed her hearing things.
