• As you got into the more restricted areas you had to use eye scanners, hand scanners, and the occasional blood scanner. The inside also looked like a modern day office building kind of. It had the cubicles and offices; it did have a couple of chutes too for mail and letters to go down and up.
There were a few holes in the ceiling so the SP's who can fly can go up quicker to the other levels. Really you couldn't call them holes because they have mechanical doors that keep them closed and you can open them using the regular different variety scanners though some rooms do not have those doors and usually they only lead into hallways so you didn't just open it on people.
Natara and Taren split up inside, Taren heading for the cafeteria for his occasional snack and Natara to her office in BL07 (Below ground level 7).
Natara took the elevator down and before she could get out gave a hand scan then walked out as the doors opened, into a large dimly lit hallway.
She could feel the sensors in the walls watching her walk down the hallway and over to room seven which was the second room on the left, right next to a large plant that's leaves were starting to grow over the pot a little too much.
Natara gave an eye scan and hearing the door unlock she opened it and strode into the room shutting the door behind her and hearing the loud click of the lock resonate through the small room.
The room was dark but Natara could still make out the different things inside. Her large steel desk was a few steps in front of her with her comfy leather chair behind it. There was a bookshelf on either side of the room and a computer sat on her desk along with two stacks of paper. One was for incoming papers and the other was for outgoing papers. The rest of the room was mostly plain, the rug was black, the walls were dark blue, there was a huge mirror that wasn't exactly plain but it covered the wall directly behind the chair filling the whole wall up and making the room look bigger. Also right behind the desk on the left side was a small refrigerator and freezer in a slot sitting on the floor.
Natara walked up to the desk and grabbing the left stack sat down in her chair and started to read through them and either rejected or approved them according to accuracy or if they were important or not.
When she was done she filled out the necessary paperwork for the day’s assignment and put it on the outgoing pile that the regulators, or people who were mostly like assistants or secretaries, would eventually pick up. Natara leaned back in her seat and turning her computer on, flicked the voice command button on the key board and said," Computer, search public news or publicity in general for pictures or articles on today's event on Highwind 13th street."
The computer beeped a few times then the leading icon popped up on the screen and a couple minutes later the computer said in its monotone voice that all computers had really, well aside for the androids or specially equipped computers," September 3, 2037. Explosions on Highwind 13th street were reported in along with fires but in a miraculous turn of events they were all put out save one by the SNO's fire squad team of pyromancers and elementals. The family of the burnt down house is safe now staying with relatives."
Natara nodded and expected as much. Another faction of the SNO, which was mostly for their own safety and benefit, always covered the Rogue unit or so Father says. The Rogue Unit is mostly a secret group except all the SP's know about them while most humans don't know they even exist
Turning off the computer she leaned back in her chair and turned around to stare into the mirror.
The reflection it caste was always the same.
There she was all decked out in black and chains the typical Goth to most, they were wrong though. The girl in the mirror was not a goth or an emo. She just liked the color black because for one it made everyone look skinnier than they really are and because it reminded her of what she in general was. A soul covered in shadows. In other words an achluomancer. A person with the powers to control shadows and darkness. The power many people nowadays called the true dark arts.
Natara couldn't really help it. Her mere image screamed darkness.
Her chin length brown hair that was so dark it looked black, pale-cream skin, and black eyes to some were dead give a ways for a vampire, although many people with brains didn't actually think this. Mostly because many teens actually use contacts and hair dyes thinking to look like a vampire even though vampires look exactly like a human aside for their aura and there isn't an ugly vampire in existence. That doesn't mean there is no average looking vampires in existence mind you.
It probably didn't really help Natara's case since she tended to pick out cloths that made most people label her as a juvenile delinquent. Right now for example, Natara wore large black baggy pants that had six large pockets: two in the back, two in the top front and two in the lower leg region on the side, they also had a black silver spiked belt and a chain that hung from the middle back part of the belt to the middle front part of the belt. She also wore a stylishly torn black shirt that had the words "Rogue" on the front. Around her neck she wore a black dog collar that had a few spikes around it. Around her wrists she wore two black large sports bands that said "Reject" on them. Natara also had two piercings in both ears, which were just two small hopes that hugged her ear lobes. The last thing that pointed out that she could be a juvenile delinquent were her pair of black combat boots she wore that had three large buckles on them.
Natara leaned back in her chair and felt much calmer in the darkness but the silence was starting to get annoying. Natara said while looking at her boots," Computer play Poison by Groove Coverage."
When the music started she felt a lot better but looking back at the mirror she froze. Her eyes had turned silver and her skin showed signs of starting to turn black. Natara shook herself like a wet dog would when trying to get dry. Her other form the, one where she had all her powers instead of the limited amount she had when in her normal form, went away instantly.
The only problem was that Natara was scared of that other form. It was too powerful too dangerous. Natara was already a match for anyone in her regular form. Why would she want to change and make the playing field even more unbalanced? The main reason for the fear though was that Natara had an eerie feeling that it was because of this other form that her memories had disappeared. She didn't have any of her memories except for a few snippets that were so small they were just flashes that Natara couldn't even decipher.
