Chapter 3 - Part 1
Damn it! She’s coming home any minute! I’m screwed, there’s no way out of this! I have to call the police, I have to report her missing before it’s too late, before things get any worse! Wait—Christy’s mom! If I can call her before she leaves her house, I might be able to convince her to find a way to keep Rebecca there. Where’s that’s number.
…It’s in Silvia’s cell… Her cell’s still in her pocket. Which… I have no choice do I? God, what kind of monster am I?! Here I am so obsessed with getting away with murder, and yet I can’t even take the time to properly morn my own wife’s death. I know, I know, I have to get through with this. It’s for Rebecca’s sake. I have to get her through college.
Ok, just head down these steps and head down towards the boiler room. God, it’s starting to smell a little. This isn’t good. If it begins to smell too much I’ll be caught in no time. Just a bit further. Oh dear god it’s starting to smell worse. Is a body supposed to smell this bad after just a few hours? Alright, I just have to turn this knob here and…
Eh… In a way I was hoping this was all a dream. That her body wouldn’t be there. That my loving wife would be home waiting for me with open arms, teasing me about how I need to do more work around the house. How I’m always staying late at work. I really wish I could of spent more time with her. Now, she’s just there, an empty vessel without a soul. I’m sorry… I’m so sorry!
I can’t sit here and look anymore! I have to get the cell and get that number now! Ok just dig in there and get the cell and slam the door shut before it’s too late. I’ll have to lock the basement door, and do whatever I can to keep Rebecca out. I’ll have to force her to stay at her friend’s for the weekend. I’m going to have to lie about her mother though. Tell her she’s alright, but she’s going to be out of town for the weekend. That I’m going to have to leave on an unexpected business time.
Alright, I have the cell. Let’s see here… 10 missed called. God, is it sad I’m jealous of a dead person right now? I’d be lucky to see one or two calls in a day, yet alone 10. Go figure, 4 are from work, and the rest are from Rebecca. No wonder why she’s so worried about her. If she even knew…
Alright, 310-857-4897, let me give this number a shot. It’ll be best to dial it on my cell.
“Thomas residence, Shelly speaking.”
“Hi, Miss Shelly, it’s Patrick, Rebecca’s father. You wouldn’t happen to know if she’s still there or not would you?”
“Oh Patrick! Long time no here, how’s Silvia doing? I haven’t had the chance to speak with her in ages.”
“Actually, that’s what I’m calling about. Listen Shelly, is Rebecca still there?”
“I think she just left a few minutes again.”
Damn it! I don’t have a lot of time. I have to think fast!
“Shelly, I have a small favor to make. You see, Silvia and I had a small argument last night and she walked out. I haven’t been able to get a hold of her since. I’m a bit worried about her, but I don’t want Rebecca worrying either. Is there any way you can let her spend the night, or possibly the weekend?”
“Oh dear… what happened with her? You don’t think she got hurt do you?”
“I… I really don’t know at this point. I don’t want to make any assumptions. It’s only been a day so far. She could be a friends, or maybe her parents. Just if you can get Rebecca out of the house for a while, it’ll be a huge favor.”
“No, no, no, don’t worry about a thing. Listen, you don’t owe me anything. All the times you’ve taken care of Christy when she’s stayed over. Please I insist. I’ll let her stay the weekend, and make sure not to bring up her mother. Just please Patrick, just make sure Silvia is alright.”
“I understand… Thanks Shelly. If you’ll excuse me I’ll talk to you later.”
“No problem. Just make sure Silvia is alright.”
“I will, bye—Click”
I should put her cell phone back into her pocket. Before that I should program her number into my cell so I have an excuse in case anyone asked how I got the number. I’ll get Rebecca out of the house as soon as I can. Pack her bags and send her off to Shelly’s for the weekend. After that I’ll dispose the body and clean up the house. If all goes well the police will be completing an investigation starting tomorrow and the body will be gone at that point as well. I’ll have to figure out a backup plan if things go wrong after that.
I’m sorry Silvia.
“Dad! Where are you at?”
Rebecca?! She’s home already? Oh god her voice is near the kitchen. She’ll be near the basement soon! I have to hurry! Oh no! I have blood on my hands!
Next time on Chapter 3 - Part 3:
Rebecca and her father battle it out in tears as Patrick tries to comfort her, while hiding the fact the he was the one who killed her mother. Will Rebecca find out his secret? What about the blood on his hands? Will Rebecca notice the smell coming from the basement?

- Pretty good. And I haven't even read the other chapters! You might want to fix up the spelling a bit.
