one day a little girl walked up to her mother,
her mother, an alcoholic, a drug addict,
her mother, who partied every night, who left her alone in the darkness
of the night.
the little girl, a sweet little girl, who did no wrong
asked her one question:
"Mommy do you love me?"
her mother looked up at her
she was lying on their sofa bed, sleeping of a hangover
her mother replied: "Leave me alone you brat. Mommy's trying to sleep."
the little girl listened to her mother and walked away.
the next day the little girl walked up to her mother and asked her the same question:
"Mommy do you love me?"
Her mother, who was on her getting ready to go out looked at the little girl and said:
"Leave me alone you brat. Mommy's trying to get ready to go out."
The little girl sighed and walked out of the room.
The little girl didn't see her Mother for four days.
When she finally came home, the little girls mother was very drunk.
The little girl looked up at her mother and asked her the same question once more:
"Mommy do you love me?"
Her Mother looked at the little girl and slapped her.
"Didn't I tell you leave me alone you brat."
The little looked down with tears streaming down her eyes.
"I just wanted to know if you loved me or not. You never told me before."
The little girl's mother picked her up and held her arm tightly.
"Mommy you're hurting me!", the little girl cried.
"Mommy is hurting you because she loves you."
Her mother through her down on the ground causing her to hit her head on the wood floor. Blood surrounded her limp body.
"Mommy.... I found my answer. Mommy doesn't love me at all."
The little girl closed her eyes and didn't say another word.

this is a sad piece it depicts something that happens everyday, and yet no one rises up to take charge in these destructive situations. The child to me represents the hope that fills us wishing someone will be there for us, but, the mother represents the slowly degrading end of a family gone wrong. She strikes down the hope and kilss the light, even when the light only wanted but i simple question answered.
